Student gets a head start in banking
LISMORE student Talluah Close is getting a head start in the banking industry after securing a two year school-based traineeship with National Australia Bank for 2013.
She joins 60 other Indigenous NAB school-based trainees nationally set to form a new generation of Indigenous employees in the banking industry.
The school-based traineeships provide Indigenous high school students from Years 10-12 with the opportunity to study a Certificate II in Business Administration while gaining valuable work experience, an income and support from Indigenous mentors and their NAB colleagues.
NAB Regional Executive for Retail Martin Robinson said NAB's Indigenous School Based Traineeships are part of the bank's wider commitment to help Indigenous Australians learn, develop their skills, grow in confidence and provide a pathway to a successful career.
