Strawberry pies forever
JAMILA Yuke, 4 and Bridget Hidden, 5, love to make strawberry pies in the sand pit and they have a lovely new one in which to make all the pies they want.
Children at Casino West Preschool have recently had their playground renovated and it is unique in that it tells Casino's story.
"We opened up previously fenced areas and placed a dinosaur dig with bones in the dirt," educator Sharon Schneider said.
"Then we have a river, which represents the Richmond River and a slide that looks like a cattle ramp, representing Casino's beef."
From there Ms Schneider pointed out the settler's hut, the mud pit and sustainable garden.
There is even a frog motel.
There are plans for further improvements, such as a mural and more infrastructure as funds become available.
