Stone and Wood's new red offering

IT TOOK four years for Stone and Wood Brewing Company to get the recipe for its new beer, Jasper Ale, just right.

"We do everything slowly and keep things simple," Stone and Wood Brewing Company marketing officer Rick Bannister said.

The new red coloured beer was released two weeks ago and would best be drunk in cooler months, Mr Bannister said.

"It's about having a beer which finishes of our collection and suits the fresh summery months and those months in Byron Bay when it gets a bit cooler."

The word "jasper" means a dark red colour and brewers gave the name to their new ale because it resembled the red volcanic soil in the Byron Bay hinterland.
