Stolen firearms, motorbikes found in 4WD trailer
A 40-YEAR-OLD woman caught towing a trailer full of stolen firearms, motorbikes, tools and a computer near Kyogle has been charged with larceny-related offences.
Richmond Local Area Command Inspector Susie Johnston said police will allege between 2pm on Wednesday December 30 and 5pm on Thursday December 31, forced entry was used to gain access to a shed on the Summerland Way, Kyogle.
A large amount of property including tools, motorbikes, a computer, firearms and a trailer was allegedly stolen.
At 10.15pm on Thursday, Insp Johnston said police stopped the 40-year-old woman who was driving a Toyota Landcruiser on Summerland Way, Kyogle.
She said a police search of the vehicle and trailer uncovered a large amount of the outstanding property.
At 5am this morning, police executed a search warrant on a Hillside Dr property in Casino.
There, police recovered almost all the outstanding property and what's believed to be cannabis, Insp Johnston said.
The woman was charged with accessory after the fact, goods in custody and conditionally bailed.
As a result of further police investigations, a 41-year-old man has been charged with aggravated break and enter, assault occasioning actual body harm and larceny in relation to the thefts.
The man was also charged with armed with intent to commit indictable offence in relation to another matter that occurred on December 12 in Centre St Casino, involving different victims.
He was granted bail to appear at the next sitting of the Casino Local Court on Monday.
Police are continuing with their enquiries.
