Stocktake sale huge success

LISMORE'S 25th annual Stocktake Sale was an unmitigated success this year, by all accounts.

Thousands of shoppers hit the sunny streets hunting for a bargain throughout the weekend, keeping local businesses on their toes.

George Gooley Menswear Lismore owner Peter Gooley said he'd been flat out throughout the weekend.

Customers such as Karin Priest and her son Joshua Priest were busy browsing a variety of tempting discount items.

"It's been a crazy Friday, Saturday and Sunday," Mr Gooley said.

"I thought the whole Stocktake Sale was really well done.

"It was a bit of a shame some shops chose to close Sunday though."

Lismore city centre manager Jason Mumford said the sales' success went well beyond his expectations.
