Still time to find a team for Lismore Relay
PREPARATIONS are well under way for the Lismore and Villages Relay For Life.
It's on this coming weekend, but there is still time to register a team.
This community event will be held at Southern Cross University's Lismore campus.
Community relations co-ordinator for Cancer Council NSW Northern Region, Hannah Brooks, said the relay was a "fun and moving overnight experience that raised vital funds for the Cancer Council's research, prevention, information and support services".
"Relay is also a chance for the Lismore community to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, patients and their carers, to honour and remember loved ones lost to cancer and to raise money to help save more lives," she said.
The Lismore and Villages Relay Committee are hosting a final team information night tomorrow at 6.30pm at the Southern Cross University's Unibar.
"The information night is a great way to learn more about relay, register yourself or your team, and promote your fundraising activities," Ms Brooks said.
"It is also a wonderful opportunity to meet other relayers and hear about all the exciting things that are planned for the relay."
Registration costs $20 and includes a t-shirt and free breakfast at the event on Sunday.
