Still no inquest into deaths on the Sage Sagittarius

AFTER 21 months, there is still no word whether the deaths of two seafarers in Australian waters deserve an inquest.

The cases of Filipino seamen Cesar Llanto and Hector Collado - who each perished aboard the Sage Sagittarius or "death ship" - were considered for an inquest on Monday by New South Wales Deputy State Coroner Sharon Freund.

A spokesman for NSW Justice said late Monday the decision from Ms Freund was yet to be made available.
