Stepladders recalled for failing safety tests

TWO ladders available online and in Crazy Clark's stores have been recalled, after testing by the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission found they did not meet Australian standards.

The multi-purpose ladders were sold on crazysales.com.au and Crazy Clark's, Sam's Warehouse, Go-Lo and Chickenfeed stores.

While there were claims on both the ladders that the products met Australian standards, the claims were false.

ACCC deputy chairwoman Delia Rickard said the testing showed the ladders did not meet key safety standards, and they were removed from sale.

She said the commission was putting all suppliers of multi-purpose ladders on notice to ensure the ladders performed as claimed.

The recalled ladders were an Auspac Sources product, the Multi-purpose Adjustable Configuration Folding Step Ladder and the DSG Holdings Australia Multi-Fold Aluminium Ladder 8.5ft/26m.
