Bushwalker's body retrieved

EMERGENCY services yesterday retrieved the body of a man from a national park in the state's north-west.

The man's body was retrieved from the Bald Rock area last night by specialist SES officers from NSW and Queensland and ambulance paramedics.

Due to strong winds, helicopters were unable to be used in the retrieval operation.

While the man hasn't been formally identified, police found documents supporting his identity.

Continuing efforts are under way to ensure all relevant family members are informed.
