St Mary’s is brimming with HSC joy
HISTORY was achieved at St Mary's Catholic College, Casino as results of the 2013 HSC were released and the Year 12 class have plenty to celebrate.
Mr Aaron Beach, Principal of St Mary's Catholic College said that the College is extremely proud of all the Year 12 graduates and a lot of hard work has paid off for the students.
"The class of 2013 has achieved outstanding results in their HSC which is a tremendous achievement for our students and a great acknowledgement to our teachers' hard work," he said.
Outstanding success in the College's HSC results was highlighted through St Mary's ranking as one of the highest for all schools on the North Coast.
The College is ranked 209th in NSW (from 660 secondary schools with students who achieved Band six results) in The Sydney Morning Herald High Flyers leagues table.
Other highlights for this year's HSC results include 17 out of 28 courses were above state average with outstanding results in each of these courses and 15 students on the Distinguished Achievers List (Band six results of 90 and above).
"60% of our students received early entry into university, which is nearly 100% of all applicants, which is fantastic, and we achieved well above state average in 17 of our courses. It's a great effort," said Mr Beach.
The 2013 Dux of the College, Matthew Parritt, received an ATAR of 96.5 and other honourable mentions are Eliza Bicego, Elizabeth Tonge, Siri Kantipudi and Ellen Barnes, who all achieved over 90.
"2014 promises to be another great year," Mr Beach said.
