The students are looking for sponsors to help support their participation in the event.

"Combining these events will help to increase participation in the school cross country, promote the importance of physical fitness and help raise money for purchasing educational resources at St Brigid's Primary School," Sports coordinator Brendan Tickle said.

Students are in training at the moment by taking part in the St Brigids Running Club which meets every Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 8.25am.

Students have the option to walk, jog or run around the 200m track on the School's bottom playground.
