Squash players rank high at titles

LISMORE Squash is celebrating a successful weekend at the NSW junior squash titles held in Coffs Harbour last weekend.

Lismore Squash sent a team of seven players to compete in the Under-15 Girls, Under-13 Girls and Boys and Under-11 girls events.

All players returned with excellent rankings in a competitive field.

Ami Devine took out the title of under-11 girl with a win over Kacey Nightingale of Parkes.

Erin Murphy and Rachel Waller, ranked two and three in the NSW Under-13 girls, respectively, were selected in the NSW State team to compete at the Australian championships to be held at Alice Springs in September.

Jordan Salkeld was the only male to represent Lismore and is ranked four in the Under-13 boys.

Three other Lismore girls competed and gained NSW rankings – Erin Bryant and Kayla Devine, ranked seven and eight in under-15 girls, and Sophie Devine, ranked eight in under-13 girls.

The juniors have been busy fundraising to send a team to the Australian championships.
