Speeding, unlicenced, out of rego and luck

PETER Hasrouny took a punt when he twice drove unregistered and uninsured vehicles this year. Both times he lost.

In April, police booked Hasrouny, 41, for riding an unregistered Harley Davidson motorcycle at 99km/h in an 80km/h zone on Nimbin Road at Booerie Creek.

When asked by police Hasrouny could not produce his driver's licence. A check revealed he was unlicensed and the bike unregistered and uninsured.

A month later, police again pulled over Hasrouny for a random breath test in Terania Street, North Lismore, this time behind the wheel of a Ford Laser.

Hasrouny hadn't been drinking, but he was still without a licence and the car, like the motorcycle, was unregistered and uninsured.

In Lismore Local Court on Monday, Magistrate Nick Reimer further disqualified Hasrouny for another four years, making him ineligible to drive until June, 2014. Hasrouny was also given an 18-month good behaviour bond, a 12-month suspended sentence and fined a total of $800.
