South Africa date for Australia

DEFENDING champion Australia continued its dominant run at the U19 Cricket World Cup with a five-wicket win over Bangladesh in yesterday's quarter-final in Townsville.

The young Aussies went into the game on the back of big victories over England (six wickets), Nepal (212 runs) and Ireland (six wickets).

Bangladesh started well and was 1-64 in the 14th over, but was bowled out for 171 in 43 overs, Travis Head taking 3-30 from seven overs.

The hosts were in trouble at 4-33, before passing the target with 4.1 overs remaining and setting up a semi-final clash against South Africa which beat England yesterday.

Captain Will Bosisto top scored with 71 not out from 134 balls, and Head contributed 44.
