Thistles soccer oval vandals may face club
TWO men who vandalised Lismore Thistles soccer ovals in July may have to face members of the club as part of their sentence.
Caleb Ivan and Liam Muss pleaded guilty in Lismore Local Court yesterday to maliciously destroying or damaging property worth less than $15,000.
They went to the Military Rd oval on the night of July 6 in a ute and were captured on CCTV damaging the ground and goalposts.
Thistles president Paul Albertini presented a statement to the court detailing damages of $13,721.
Muss and Ivan, both 19, were to be assessed for forum sentencing.
Forum sentencing brings together victim and offender, aiming to help repair the harm and reduce the likelihood of re-offending.
Ivan's matter was adjourned to Katoomba.
