Slippery spill on River Street

NSW FIRE and Rescue and council workers were called to an oil spill in Ballina this morning.

The spillage stretched for 200 metres near the roundabout at River and Cherry Streets and the fire brigade was called out just before noon to help clean it up.

Ballina Council workers applied a product to help soak up the oil which will then be swept up tomorrow morning.

The oil spill was caused by leakage from a nearby parked car.
