Single-minded win for John

JOHN Morschel was in good form during some of the latest action at the Casino RSM Bowl-ing Club.

Morschel recorded a 31-21 win over Ian Wotherspoon in the opening round of the A-grade singles club championship.

Other matches on Saturday included a win for Ross Schipp, Peter Comerford and John Cormick, who combined for a 26-19 triumph over Ned McAuliffe, Max Brown and Max Grayin the club triples.

Eddie Scofield and Pat Anderson proved a good team as they wrapped up a 30-9 victory over Josh and Jason Bruggy in the B-grade pairs.

It is a busy time for the Canterbury Street club, with championships continuing this weekend.

Pennants will get under way on Saturday, March 2.

The club's women's section has its gala day on Friday, involving players from across the Northern Rivers.
