Sign-ons to be held in February

EVANS Head Junior Rugby League will hold sign-on days in February, and the club is hoping to this year lay the foundations for a solid junior league base in the area.

Club president Jeremy Bryant said the club was hoping to have as many teams as possible in this year's Group One Junior competition, from Under-7s through to U16s.

He said the junior club had a good partnership with the senior club, the Evans Head Bombers, and it was hoped that eventually there would be a strong junior league progression through to the senior ranks.

All new players will need a birth certificate, a Medicare number and a passport-sized photo to sign-up.

The sign-on days will be held on Saturday, February 8, and Saturday, February 15.

They will be held from 10am until noon at Stan Payne Oval.

Mr Bryant said parents were welcome to join the club to help out with administration and coaching.

Potential coaches would need to obtain a coaching certificate, which can be achieved through a one-day course.

Inquiries can be made to Jeremy Bryant on 0422 585 226.
