Shots fired in Casino

THREE men and a woman have been charged after shots were fired at a man at Casino earlier this morning.

About 12:20am, Tuesday 15 November 2011, a 40-year-old man was walking along the Bruxner Highway towards the Casino CBD.

As the man was walking along the road three shots were fired from a black Toyota Hilux which was travelling west on the highway.

After one of the shots narrowly missed the man he immediately contacted Triple Zero (000) and notified police.

Police later located the Toyota at a petrol station on Centre Street, Casino.

Three men aged 23, 24 and 30 and a 20-year-old woman were arrested at the petrol station and taken to Casino Police Station.

It will be alleged during a search of the utility police located a pistol and shotgun. The vehicle was subsequently seized for forensic examination.

The 24-year-old man was charged with a number of offences including fire firearm in manner likely to injure person, fire firearm in or near public place and possess loaded firearm.

The other two men and woman were charged with concealing a serious indictable offence. All four were granted conditional bail to appear in Casino Local Court on Wednesday 21 December 2011.
