Shopping centre gunman has sentencing postponed

SENTENCING has been postponed for a month for a Gold Coast man who shot a bikie and a bystander in a busy shopping centre in 2012.

A jury found Mark James Graham, 28, was found guilty of attempted murder and unlawful wounding yesterday.

Justice Alan Wilson planned to deliver a sentence today until last-minute evidence of a psychiatric disorder came to light.

Defence barrister David Edwardson said Graham was diagnosed with severe bipolar disorder while in custody and took a 400mg daily dose of antipsychotic medication Seroquel.

"I need a psychiatric report. I need to explore this condition that I was not aware of until today," Mr Edmundson said.

Graham was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at 10am on Monday, November 3.
