Shoplifter caught with drugs

A GRAFTON man caught shoplifting at Lismore Shopping Square on Wednesday was found to be carrying drugs and in breach of his bail.

Police arrested the man at 12.30 pm yesterday and when they searched the 30 year-old they found property they allege was stolen from three different stores.

During the search officers also discovered quantities of what they believe to be cannabis and amphetamines on the man.

He was taken to Lismore Police Station where subsequent checks revealed that he had breached his bail.

He was charged with shoplifting, possessing prohibited drugs and breach of bail.

He was refused bail and appeared at Lismore Local Court yesterday.
