Shop is Pure Perfection for wedding and event planning

DEONNIE Whitaker thought more was needed for Fraser Coast folk planning special celebrations.

The business woman, wife and mum of two didn't think people should have to travel to the Sunshine Coast for formal wear and event planning.

With this thought in mind she opened her new business, Pure Perfection Wedding and Function Specialist on February 17 in Hervey Bay.

"We've had a fantastic response," Deonnie said.

"Everyone says this is what the Bay needs."

Deonnie said her business offered everything from wedding gowns, formal wear and jewellery to ceremony and gala decorations.

She said the shop's gowns are all under $1000.

"We're keeping the prices extremely reasonable," Deonnie said.

"We've actually had people from Brisbane shopping in our shop."

She said the business would only grow bigger and there were possible expansion plans.

"Everything is going ahead, we can grow as Hervey Bay does," Deonnie said.

Deonnie's husband of 10 years, carpenter Adam Whitaker, also helps out.

"My husband builds a lot of the props," she said.
