Shock jocks make trouble as Dallas shines on The Voice

RADIO trouble-makers Kyle and Jackie O are at it again - this time singling out the wife of Byron Bay The Voice contestant Dallas James for breastfeeding their toddler on the show.

Dallas's partner Ingrid Pullen was there with their two-year-old son Tashi when the Byron musician made a huge splash on the show, earning invitations to work with three of the four judges.

However, not long after Dallas made the grade on the Channel 9 show with a powerful rendition of Sam Cooke's Bring It On Home To Me, Kyle and Jackie O posted a picture on Facebook of Ingrid breastfeeding Tashi on-set with the comment: "Did I just see a woman breast feeding on the Voice? Thoughts?".

The picture and comment drew a big response with more than 1250 people commenting on it and nearly 100 sharing it - but while the radio duo may have got the traffic they wanted through their Facebook page, they crashed shockingly when it came to people's reactions.

While a small minority of the comments objected to the idea of a woman breastfeeding in public or criticised the family as 'hippies from Byron' the commenters overwhelmingly supported Ingrid and instead turned their venom on Kyle and Jackie O for posting it in the first place.

"Good on her and good on channel 9 for airing it people need to wake the hell up and stop being prudes it's totally natural and healthy for the child and it also calms them down when they are upset so many benefits half of u people whinging prob sucked on your mums breasts too who cares it's natural," one commenter said.

"It's great it's natural.. well done for being a good mother," said another.

Dallas, along with Holly Tapp and Harry Healy, is one of three Northern Rivers singers to get through the blind auditions on The Voice.
