Shark sighting at Wategos

WATEGOS Beach at Byron Bay was closed for about half an hour on Sunday morning after a shark was seen in the vicinity.

Surf Life Saving spokesperson Jimmy Keogh said lifeguards were notified by a member of the public that they had seen a shark at around 10am.

A search was conducted using an inflatable rescue boat around Wategos, Little Wategos and The Pass.
