Greg Norman looking for own Peter Senior moment at Coolum

HE plays more tennis than golf these days and likes nothing better than "chilling out" at home, but Greg Norman still harbours a competitive animal inside his seemingly ageless body.

Or was he only joking?

When asked today what his expectations were at the Australian PGA Championships, which starts on Thursday at Palmer Coolum Resort, the two-time major winner said: "To do a Peter Senior."

The remark, a reference to fellow Aussie 50s-something Senior's shock Australian Open win on Sunday, drew chuckles from the assembled media.

Now aged 57 but looking supremely fit as usual, The Shark only plays a handful of tournaments a year now that his focus has shifted from the sport which made him a household name globally to the businesses he established on the strength of his name.

"I schedule my schedule now around business and then golf is a bolt on," he said.

"I enjoy doing so many other things off the golf course," he added.

"Building the business for one. It's a lot of hard work under the economic environment that we have in the United States in the golf industry.

"So you've really got to stay on top of it the best you can. And I enjoy it."
