Sharing services AirBnB and PetCloud taking off in Australia

COMMUNITY sharing services are becoming more and more common around the world and Australians are warming to them as well.

In the last few months we've seen Uber make its way to NSW while AirBnB allows people to exchange their homes with other vacationers.

Pet minding services are gaining in popularity and the founder of PetCloud, Lismore-born Deb Morrison, has partnered her national company with RSPCA Queensland.

"By having the RSPCA endorse PetCloud we involve their vets and animal specialists and trainers in talking about the boarding process," Ms Morrison said.

"We also worked with RSPCA vet nurses to develop a pet sitter accredited learning course, so people can learn what it takes to be a pet sitter.

"We also have GPS pet collars as an option in case pets are prone to escaping.

"If their pet escapes, the owner will get a text message alert on their phone."

Ms Morrison said PetCloud also makes it mandatory that pet sitters have a background check if they are going to stay in a pet owner's home while they're away.

She said pet minding particularly suited students, seniors, or any animal lovers with some spare time.

"It's free to join, everyone sets their own prices, there's a video for how it works and a support number," Ms Morrison said.

You can find more information, become a pet minder or find other pet minders at petcloud.com.au.
