Serious savings at stocktake sale

THE Lismore CBD will be packed with hundreds of keen shoppers looking for the best bargains this weekend as part of the annual Lismore On Sale stocktake.

Chandlers Super Store manager Michael Haddin said the biggest savings in the store could be made on some of the largest items.

"Everyone wants a new big-screen LCD TV and we have reduced some of our stock by $300," he said.

"This time of the year is always a good time to buy a new TV as the companies change their models, give them a face lift, and you can save a fortune. It is a good time to cash in at the right price."

Mr Haddin said whitegoods, furniture and bedding would be high on the shopping list with local consumers.

"We've purposely gone out and secured good bargains which will make it worthwhile for shoppers to buy," he said.

"The whole idea of Lismore On Sale is to get the whole town involved and this year we have the added bonus of a car giveaway.

Anyone who purchases an item from now until the end of the month in Lismore can go into the draw to win a new Suzuki Swift.

"It's our way of giving something back to our general shoppers and to keep people shopping locally, and to do that we need to offer them a decent sale."
