PETER Senior is turning his attention to this week's Byron Bay Golf Club Australian Legends Tour Championships after a respectable performance at the Australian PGA Championships.

Senior, who is arguably the leading draw card for this week's event at the Broken Head Golf Club course, finished tied 27th at the Coolum tournament.

The 53-year-old was in contention for the title before falling away with a final round 77 to finish on a -5 score of 283.

Daniel Popovic took the title with a -16 score of 272.

Senior, who won the recent Australian open, is now travelling to Byron Bay for the Legends event, which gets under way tomorrow.

A host of top Australian professionals and about 90 amateurs are lining up for the event.

Admission is free for spectators and all are welcome to attend.
