Seminar to explain migration

A SPECIAL information seminar will take place in Lismore on Monday regarding changes to the Federal Government’s skilled migration program.

The seminar will be held in the Rous Water Building from 3 to 5pm.

Interested employers or migrants can also make an appointment to speak with a Department of Immigration official before the seminar.

These appointments will be held in the office of Page MP Janelle Saffin from 9am-3pm.

Bookings for the appointments are essential. They can be made by calling 6621 9909.

A spokesman for the Department of Immigration said the appointments and seminar would be good opportunities for Northern Rivers residents to speak to officials about particular issues.

“While the department has a lot of information available over the phone or on the internet, some people may not be aware of recent policy changes or they may prefer to speak to officers face-to-face,” he said.

The Federal Government announced changes to skilled migration earlier this month.
