Seminar invites aspiring police

ASPIRING police officers looking for a change of scenery are invited to attend a Queensland Police recruitment seminar in Lismore this week.

The Lismore Workers Club will host the seminar on Wednesday, between 11 and 12:30pm.

Two QLD senior constable recruitment officers will detail what is required from recruits to enter the force, including health, integrity, residency, education and a driver’s licence.

Sergeant Simone Quig from QLD Police recruitment said it was 18 months since the last inter-state seminar was held in Northern NSW.

She said many recruits jumped over the border for a lifestyle change.

“We get a lot of people from the Murwillumbah, Tweed and the Northern Rivers area because it is closer to come to our academy then go down south,” she said.

The QLD Police Academy is located in Oxley, just south of the Brisbane CBD.

Seminar places are limited and booking is essential. To book call 07 3364 8000.
