Secretary Ripoll spends break talking Aus politics in Hawaii

OXLEY MP Bernie Ripoll is spending part of the two-week break from Parliament in Hawaii.

But before you jump to any conclusions, he is there to work.

Mr Ripoll, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer, is in Honolulu to take part in the two-day Australian American Leadership dialogue.

A small delegation from both countries will engage on Tuesday and Wednesday on a broad range of topics affecting US and Australian interests including defence, security, and foreign policy in the Indo Pacific region, and regional cooperation.

Mr Ripoll said he was honoured to be representing the Federal Government at the dialogue and to lead a discussion on Australian politics.

"Our alliance with the US is our most critical bilateral relationship and one of the cornerstones of our foreign policy," he said.

Parliament resumes for its penultimate sitting week for the year on Monday.
