Second best Aussie restaurant is in Newrybar

NEWRYBAR'S Harvest Cafe has been named as the second best Aussie restaurant for a weekend getaway.

Harvest was only pipped at the post by rural Victorian restaurant Brae, in Birregurra south-west of Melbourne, which was this week announced as the 87th best restaurant in the world.

Co-owner Brooke Hudson said when the Harvest team found out the news it lifted their spirits.

"We're all pretty stoked; the chef is bouncing around and he's very happy," she said.

"We are totally humbled to be in such amazing company because Nu Nu, which is the restaurant that's listed behind us, is a two hatted restaurant.

"It's a lovely pat on the back for many years of hard work and us focusing on honouring our ethos, which is fresh, local, sustainable, but doing it with that level of professionalism and elegance that we have always carried ourself with."
