Search for missing man at Uki

A search is underway for Julian Golding, 63, who was last seen walking along Murwillumbah Road away from Uki on Thursday, September 9.

He has not been heard or seen since and was reported missing to police on Wednesday, September 15.

Mr Golding suffered several strokes a number of years ago and requires daily medication.

Police and family have grave concerns for his welfare as he does not have his medication and his disappearance is totally out of character.

The man owns a 70 hectare property on nearby Mt Warning Road at Mt Warning and police think it possible he might have got lost either on his property or in nearby bushland.

Police have been joined in the search by SES and VRA personnel, National Parks and Wildlife officers, Ambulance SCAT officers and the Lifesaver 4 helicopter.

The area being searched around Mt Warning and Uki is extremely rugged and steep bushland terrain.

The search will continue until nightfall.
