Search continues for missing woman

THE search continued yesterday for missing Tweed Heads woman Carol Anderson, who disappeared from a caravan park on Friday.

Ms Anderson had not been found late yesterday afternoon after an exhaustive two-day land and river search throughout Tweed Heads South, including the Palms Caravan Park where she is a resident.

The RACQ CareFlight helicopter was tasked yesterday to assist Tweed Byron Local Area Command police, the State Emergency Service, Rural Fire Service and Volunteer Rescue Association personnel who had been on the search since Tuesday morning.

Police hold grave concerns for the 70-year-old woman as she suffers Alzheimer's disease and has been missing for five days.

About 1.40pm on Friday Ms Anderson was captured on CCTV leaving the caravan park on Dry Dock Rd and was last seen walking towards Fraser Dr.

She is described as Caucasian, 160cm tall, with a medium build, brown/grey collar-length hair and was last seen wearing a long white dress with shoe-string straps.
