Seagulls junior team dominates 2013 competition

BALLINA first grade is not the only side celebrating a successful rugby league campaign in 2013.

The Seagulls won the Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League grand final 30-24 against Murwillumbah at Kingsford Smith Park, Ballina at the weekend.

It was a side littered with talent and boasted 17 local juniors.

The Seagulls under-7s team was undefeated all season and finished their season at a gala day at St John's College Woodlawn in Lismore. The team comprised Toby Tymmons, Yimbukayi Kelly, Jesse Thompson, Damon Johnson, Riley McPherson, Ethan Campbell, Jai Horkings and William Wright.

It was a family affair with Simon Tymmons coaching and sponsors by Terry Kelly Building.

"They have a lot of skill for five, six and seven-year-olds," team manager Vicki Tymmons said.

"We have a great group of parents that are willing to help."
