Carnival goes swimmingly

TREGEAGLE District schools held their swimming carnival at Alstonville Pool last week.

The district comprises four small schools - Albert Park, Rous, Tregeagle and Wyrallah public schools - but the excitement for competitors and spectators was as loud and as large as life.

Wyrallah Public School captain Declan Allen said he enjoyed the day.

"The carnival is really good," he said.

"It's better than being at school. I like all the cheering when the swimmers are getting closer to the finish. And we get to meet children from the other schools and that's good too, because I really don't know any of the others."
