School play dedicated to Jai

YEAR 11 Mullumbimby High School students have decided to dedicate this year's annual play to the memory of Jai Morcom who died on Saturday.

“Although the school community is going through a very difficult time, the drama students and teachers involved felt strongly that Jai would want the performances to continue,” a spokeswomen said yesterday.

Jai was a performer, having worked extensively with Spaghetti Circus.

The play is an adoption of William Shakespeare's The Tempest called Prospero's Island.

Evening performances at the Byron Bay Community Centre Theatre will be staged as planned at 8pm from Thursday to Saturday and 7pm on Sunday.

However, the 1pm matinee performances slated for Saturday and Sunday will be subject to change, pending funeral arrangements.
