Armed man confirmed as prison escapee
UPDATE: THE subject of a police search in Coffs Harbour has been confirmed as prison escapee Marcus Buchanan, 33.
Buchanan escaped Glen Innes Correctional Facility on October 27 and has links to the Coffs Harbour, Kempsey and Nambucca Heads areas.
Coffs/Clarence Crime Manager Detective Inspector Darren Jameson said Buchanan is still believed to be in the Coffs Harbour region and remains at large.

Buchanan escaped the minimum-security facility with another man who was found by police and arrested on October 28.
Buchanan is described as medium build, Aboriginal in appearance, 165cm tall, with brown hair and brown eyes.
He is missing part of the little finger on his right hand and has various tattoos including a cross on his left hand.

2PM: A MAN believed to be armed has not been located at Nimbin Place, as police continue their search in neighbouring streets.
The lockdown of St Augustines Primary School has also been lifted.
1:30PM STREETS surrounding Nimbin Place in Coffs Harbour have been placed in lockdown.
Police have confirmed they are searching for a man who is believed to be armed with a firearm.
Officers wearing bullet-proof vests entered a property and evacuated several adjoining residences. Police are searching a vehicle of interest in Nimbin Pl.
St Augustines Primary School teachers have been instructed to keep students indoors to ensure their safety.
