Witches and wizards to visit school
WITCHES and wizards are invited to dust off their broomsticks for the Halloween-inspired Fairtastic at Brunswick Heads Public School from 4-8pm tomorrow.
For thrillseekers, there's the Bat Tower, Super Slide, Tea Cups and Jumping Castle, a haunted house, costume parade and freaky face-painting.
The less adventurous can take a spooky cake for the Halloween Cake Competition, enter the Best Scarecrow Contest, decorate a wax candle, or simply enjoy the program of singing, dancing and entertainment.
"We think it's a great way to have fun with the Halloween theme in a safe, enclosed environment, with more emphasis on rides and activities rather than just collecting lollies," school principal Trisha Parker said.
"Fairtastic is our big fund-raiser for the year and we've had an unprecedented level of support from our local business community here in Brunswick Heads as well as Ocean Shores and Mullumbimby."
There will be more than $6000 worth of prizes up for grabs on the Wheel of Winning and the new mini Trick or Treat wheel for the kids.
All-night ride passes can be pre-purchased at the school's office for $20, or for $25 on the night (or $5 per ride).
Money raised tomorrow will help finance a major upgrade of the school's playground.
