YOUR STORY: Saved by local surfer at Flat Rock

Sunday morning I took my young son Levi 7 years old who is learning to surf for a surf at Flat Rock point.

Levi is not a strong paddler so I generally have to push him onto waves.

New to the area we found ourselves in trouble with a strong undertow and caught in a rip.

I got Levi to try and paddle to shore while I tried (with no luck) to swim in.

That's when "Lochy" a local young surfer came to my aid and tried to get me back in.

We struggled for a while and another older surfer also came to our aid and managed to get us back to shore.

I can't thank these guys enough, particularly Lochy.

If it weren't for his help I'm not sure what the outcome might have been.

Thanks a lot guys, you are legends!!
