Save the date for another Divarama
MUSICIANS of Kyogle are busy planning this year's all ages Divarama event.
The previous two events showcased local female talent in an open mic format. This year's event will be all that and so much more.
Divarama 2014 is moving to a larger venue, and will feature a line up of accomplished bands and solo musicians, as well as providing an open mic opportunity.
"It's a celebration of women in music," Divarama committee member Bree Johnston said.
"It's an all-ages event and we want women and men to enjoy the evening and participate.
"Men are welcome on stage. We are encouraging them to include songs written or originally performed by women on their set list."
The evening promises to be an elegant and fun night out. Nibble platters will be available to pre-order with ticket sales, raffles and a photo booth will be available, and a lip-sync battle is in the works.
Divarama will be held on Saturday, August 30 at the Kyogle Memorial Institute Hall. All proceeds raised from the night will be donated to the Village Hall Player's "Drama in a Rural Town" (DIRT) program.
Anyone interested in performing should email firstname.lastname@example.org. Anyone interested in attending should follow the Divarama page on facebook.
Further details will be released closer to the event.
