This is Eamonn Wilde of U14s Woodburn Wolves soccer team. He is an awesome goalie who goes to great lengths to keep the opposition's goals to a minimum. (Full disclosure: Samantha Elley is the editor of the Richmond River Express Examiner, which is part of The Northern Star family of papers).

READERS gave Richmond River Express Examiner editor Samantha Elley the big thumbs up yesterday, with close to two-thirds choosing her image of Woodburn Wolves U14 goalie Eamonn Wilde for today's Photo of the Day.

Sam described Eamonn, who she captured in a moment of celebration, as "an awesome goalie who goes to great lengths to keep the opposition's goals to a minimum".

Photo of the Day celebrates the beauty of the Northern Rivers and the talent of the region's photographers.

As well as appearing here, the Photo of the Day is also published on Page 2 of our print edition and appears as the cover image on our Facebook page.

To submit an image for Photo of the Day, share it to our Facebook page.

We have only two submissions to choose from for tomorrow's Photo of the Day, both excellent images from regular contributors Serena Tomkins and Rebecca Ludstrom.

Have a look and pick your favourite.

Voting closes at noon.
