Salt-N-Pepa arguably at their best

THE first ladies of hip hop admit they still argue all the time, but they've learnt to smile through it.

"We were debating on the way up here," Pepa tells the press conference before their set at Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast.

"It was like a little tiff going back and forth. She's like, 'I'm thinking about wearing this' and I said, 'Oh, I got something else picked out for the poolside' and she says 'We need to be co-ordinated!'.

Their manager had to step in and tell the girls to "hug it out". Salt-N-Pepa were in Australia for shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and finished up on the Gold Coast on Sunday.

The pair famously split in 1999 because of their differences.

"A little tiff over an outfit would have been a big drama in the past," Salt says, laughing. "We just argue it out now, but we do it with a smile. We had a reality TV show in the US that dealt with all of that, but I think we've grown up now."

The girls performed hits Let's Talk About Sex, Push It, and their favourite, Shoop, in a poolside concert.
