FOR SALE: Very well-trodden pair of Aussie thongs

A LITTLE boy's Santa list has turned into a very popular post on a Casino Buy and Sell Facebook page when his father, Casino resident Rod Pearson posted a very well-used pair of thongs for sale at $10.

"My boy is getting excited for (Christmas) and (his) mother Helen told him to write a letter for Santa," Mr Pearson said.

"He wanted a Bunnings truck and a chocolate Santa and 'please can daddy have some new thongs."

The now famous thongs have travelled everywhere with Mr Pearson, three times around the world.

"I must have had the double pluggers for nearly 10 years now," he said.

"They have been on my feet travelling around the world - England Italy, Greece,America,India.

"(They) got some attention when going through customs at Birmingham airport with the bloke saying to his trainee how the Aussies turn up in flip flops and soon run to the closest shop for warmer shoes."

Mr Pearson thought he'd have a bit of fun and post them online for sale and couldn't believe the amount of comments and likes the post attracted.

He wrote:

"Well loved, well used from the ocean to the outback. Plenty of wear left around two more seasons. Regrettable sale only selling due to a letter to Santa from my three year old boy, pick up after Boxing Day."

The price on them was $10.

The post so far has attracted nearly 60 comments and over 240 likes.

"Sold ! Will pay more if someone is in front of me" wrote one person.

"I'd have to view them and take them for a spin around town before committing to buy!" wrote another.

Others complained that they weren't the right colour and many were just happy to have a laugh.

Mr Pearson said he definitely couldn't part with them until Boxing Day when Santa would hopefully bring him a new pair.

"I have to wear something on my feet until then."
