Rural women: Down tools and get to high tea at Beef Week

RURAL women will be treated to high tea while they network and hear an inspirational speaker at a special event just for them during this year’s Casino Beef Week.

Last year’s high tea attracted 190 women from around the Northern Rivers.

Casino Beef Week events coordinator Lena Mager said a traditional high tea would be served, complete with sandwiches, cakes, slices, tea and coffee.

“It’s just a good reason for women to come together, hear an inspirational speaker, have some fun, there’s a raffle and there’s also a chance to shop,” she said.

President Stuart George said he was proud to host the event at the Casino RSM Club on May 26.

“We’re inviting women who are running farms for their career, women interested or working in the agricultural business sector ... the event provides great networking opportunities for rural women as well as inspiration, motivation and education,” he said.

Jodie McRae, the founder of Jodie’s Inspiration, will share her story on the day as the guest speaker.

Money raised at the high tea will go to her organisation.

Tickets for the high tea, which runs from 11am to 2pm, cost $20 and can be bought from the RSM club.
