IT is not clear what motivated former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to upload videos of his 'Friday morning pre-interview workout'.

But he did.

Mr Rudd tweeted a link to two videos, the first dubbed 'total failure' and the second 'modest success'.

The former shows a personal trainer, not once but twice, attempt to assist Mr Rudd into chin-up position on a steel pole in a park.

In the latter, the trainer helps lift the MP onto rings and complete seven, indeed modest, chin-ups as curious onlookers take happy-snaps with their mobile phones.

YouTube users did not hold back with their comments.

"This video is a metaphor for all the billion-dollar ideas he came up with as PM," one user commented.

"He can carry the weight of a nation but cannot carry his own body weight," wrote another.
