Ruby the pooch reunited with family after fireworks escape

RUBY the pooch with a fear of fireworks has been reunited with her family.

The Staffordshire bull-terrier cross fled the family home on Avondale Avenue, East Lismore on New Year's Eve after being frightened by fire works at Lismore Showground.

Ruby's distraught owner, Julie Baker, appealed to the public through a story in the Northern Star on January 3, to help find the family pet.

The family also posted notices around the neighbourhood and it was one of these notices which attracted the attention of the Tierney-Turner family.

Ruby had made her way to their Ballina Rd home sometime on New Year's Eve where the family found the terrified dog running up and down the footpath.

In the days since New Year, Ruby had been enjoying the families hospitality, hanging out with their dog, Tiny, and playing with the six Tierney-Turner children.

She is now settling back into life with Ms Baker.
