Rous Water staff to offer water saving tips at Lismore show

"ROUS Water staff will be at the North Coast National to answer your local water supply questions and listen to your water saving choices and actions," said Barbara Jensen, Rous Water Community Education Officer.

"Most years it has been hot, thirsty weather at the show, so collect a free water bottle to refill.

"Also have fun in our Wilsons Wise Water House. It's an interactive way to consider your water saving behaviours and a chance to have your say on the Rous Water Rainwater Tank Rebate with a simple survey.

"One lucky survey participant (on the town supply) will win a 5000 litre Duraplas Slimline Tank. Look for our marquee alongside the Lismore City Council's shed," Barbara said.

After the show it is National Water Week (October 19 to 25). This is an annual awareness campaign that provides an opportunity to remind ourselves and teach others that water must be used wisely if there is to be enough to meet the needs of our future generations.

While the Week is dedicated to encouraging communities to take action to protect our vital water sources, it's also a celebration of innovation and water achievements that have and will contribute to Australia's sustainable future.

This year National Water Week's theme is Water Sources: There are more than you think!, encouraging sound water practices and investment in all the water sources to ensure we don't exhaust our current sources in potentially challenging times ahead.
