Netball competition newcomers Bundjalarms win GF berth

COMPETITION newcomers Bundjalarms are through to the Lismore Netball Association Division 1 grand final after edging out Rockers in the preliminary final.

Bundjalarms will take on Daleys in the premiership decider on Saturday after holding on to beat Rockers by four goals.

Bundjalarms led by six at the main break and while Rockers made changes, switching Penny Williams and Siteri Docherty, they were unable to overcome the deficit.

Bundjalarms will need to improve their mid court if they are to challenge Daleys and shooters Jess Wraight and Amee Cameron will need to be on target with Daleys to have the height advantage in defence while Lisa Brown will lead the way in attack.

Defenders Tamara Hamshaw and Amelia Wright were among the standouts for Bundjalarms against Rockers while Michelle Forthsyth, Williams and Docherty impressed in a beaten side.

SCU Mary G secured a win to take on club-mates SCU Prue Blonde in the division 2 grand final.

This match-up is an even affair with the team that can claim the upper hand in the shooting circle likely to claim honours.
