Roll up for Nimbin Pink Ribbon Day

WELL-KNOWN and highly-respected local surgeon Dr Robert Simon, of St Vincent's Medical Centre, will give a talk on breast cancer at the Nimbin Bowling, Sport and Recreation Club's Pink Ribbon Day at 1pm on Sunday.

The annual event is organised by the club's ladies committee in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

The theme this year is 'All Things Pink Fancy Dress', with prizes to be won for the most outrageous and most creative costumes, the best-dressed male, best-dressed toddlers to five years and those from five to 12 years old.

The day will start with a barbecue breakfast from 8am, followed by a game of barefoot bowls and a Chinese smorgasbord lunch, with lots of fun activities and a monster raffle to be run throughout the day.

“Please come along and support this very worthy cause. Every dollar and every cent raised will make a huge difference,” organiser Maria de Reghetti said yesterday.

A donation of $10 for adults and $2 for children will cover the barbecue, green fees and the fancy dress competition.
